DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING REFERRALS

At Parks Therapy Centre we are proud to be working in Partnership with the Hamptons Hospital to offer our clients the ability to self-fund MRI, X-ray and Ultrasound diagnostic investigations.

Physiotherapy assessment and onward referral for these self-funding diagnostic imaging referrals is available at our sites in Biggleswade, St Neots and our Castle Consulting Rooms clinic in Bedford.  The Hamptons Hospital offers imaging appointments from 24hrs after receiving the referral and deliver the results quickly within an impressive 24-48 hour period following the investigation. Following the diagnostic imagining results your Physiotherapist will review your results and update your personalised treatment programme taking into account your diagnostic findings. â€‹â€‹

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

An MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scan uses magnetic fields along with radio waves to provide detailed images of the body’s internal structures.  MRI helps to diagnose and monitor a wide range of conditions with unmatched clarity. Whether investigating a specific issue or seeking further insight, an MRI offers precision and confidence in your diagnosis by using powerful magnets and radio waves to capture images.  The MRI is non-invasive and lasts between 20 - 60 minutes depending on the area of investigation.

X-ray

An X-ray is a reliable, fast tool for imaging to assess bones / fractures, joint alignment and degenerative changes.   X-rays use electromagnetic waves and radiation to create images of what's inside your body. Whether you’re addressing an injury or investigating unexplained pain, an X-ray provides clear, immediate insights to help guide your next steps.

Ultrasound

An ultrasound provides a real-time image of soft tissues, providing detailed information into the underlying health of the tissue. It is a non-invasive, versatile and essential diagnostic tool that uses high-frequency sound waves to create the images. It does not use radiation, which makes it a safer option for various diagnostic purposes, especially in pregnancy
