PILATES CLASSES
STRENGTHEN CORE MUSCLES
Pilates is a form of exercise that was developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates who developed from a frail child into a leading gymnast, diver, and skier. He believed that mental and physical health were related, and that improved movement could be developed through learning-controlled movement from a strong core.
Nowadays Pilates is taught in several styles and at Parks Therapy Centre, our instructor teaches Modified Pilates, which is a research-based approach to Pilates. It is based on the original 34 Pilates mat-work exercises which have been modified to take account of the most up to date evidence on the best and most effective way of using them.
